On these hazy summer days, we take pleasure in the little things. Is there anything better than sipping ice cold water with a slice of lemon when you’ve just been out in the feverish heat? Summer seems the perfect time to steal a quiet afternoon soaking in a tub until the water cools with a good book and then settling into a plush white towel or into crisp cool sheets.
It’s all about little {and sometimes, big} escapes, isn’t it?
{p.s.} Also, would like to take a quick moment to announce the winner of the Perricone Summer Survival Kit. Congratulations to my dear Linda of Simply Seductive!
There are over 600 muscles in the human body.
A microliter of blood contains over 5 million red blood cells.
There is an average of 100,000 hairs on your head, which actually may vary depending on your hair color.
You are miraculous. You are intricate down to the drop of blood from a finger prick. You are delicate and still resilient. All those flaws you think you have aren’t flaws; they are the equivalent to the variations that emerge with every brush stroke of a masterpiece. Which is what you are: a masterpiece.
I’ve just recently discovered who Angela Kohler is. Well, actually, I already knew her work, as do most of you. She’s responsible for the Girls with Glasses video we all loved so much. Oh, and did I mention she also did the Kindle videos? Ya, that’s her. Interview and information on how to own some of her work coming soon!
I’ve contemplated engraving my macbook a few times, but have been so afraid of screwing it up. I’d all but given up on the idea until I saw this beauty pop up in my feed last night. If you don’t have the patience to do this yourself {or the cash to have someone do it for you}, check this out.
Bewitching and enigmatic, iamamiwhoami’s videos are captivating. Plenty of suggestions as to who this artist could be, but no good leads so far. I’ll happily wait for the reveal…
Back from my little vacation and happily relaxed. {Thanks to morning passages for your hospitality!} Hope you took the chance to explore some old posts while I was gone. Also wanted to let you know that I did a guest post over at Sacramento Street which went up while I was gone.
Whimsical woodwork by artist Patrick Dougherty. His creations remind me of the set work for Where the Wild Things Are. {I wonder if he was involved?} patrick dougherty
Eniko Mihalik stars in this short video and this spread in 25 magazine, both which were inspired by Gustav Klimt‘s art. Derek Kettela shot the spread and video with the help of model couple Sasha Knezevic (as creative director) and Anja Rubik (as fashion editor). Did I mention that the music is by Portishead?
Klimt + Portishead = Swoon.
